So, I have not been to the gym for almost four months! Yes, four freaking months without any exercise. Well, I swam lots during the summer and occasionally managed to drag my lazy behind to the Zumba class…oh and walked my four legs buddy to the park or the foreshore. But that was it though. Today is the first day I hit the gym floor again, pretty sure tomorrow I’m going to be sore!
I am not a fitness junkie or whatever you call it. I prefer lying on my couch and reading book or flicking through magazine pages rather than exercising at the gym. I also love to eat yummy food and I have sweet tooth. When I was younger my metabolism system was fast and furious, I could eat whatever I wanted and my tummy was still flat and I didn’t gain weight at all. Now that I am getting older, my metabolism also getting slower to burn any calories I consume. So a little piece of chocolate cake will take forever to burn, ughhh!
That’s why I need to exercise regularly. I normally try to go to the gym three times a week. I like cardio class such as body combat, body pump, body attack, and Zumba. I also do yoga class to balance my mind and soul and it is good for my back too ( you know, old age syndrome….😉) I am not a running person, in fact I hate run and I can’t run! But I like walking and I can walk fast, especially when I’m mad at something or someone! You can ask my husband about this!😀
I exercise to be healthy and toned. I don’t focus on being skinny but if I can shred another two or three kilos I will be very happy, and if I can get rid of my love handles it’s a great bonus! In general I want to live a healthy life style, I want to look after my body, but also I want to enjoy those yummy cupcakes and the delicious Indonesian food and now and then I like to party and drink one or two and I can’t live without rice and pasta because I love carbo! But, you know what, life is too short to be skinny and unhappy! I think, as long as you do every thing in moderate and exercise regularly, your weight will take care of itself! Try to have a balance diet and keep being active, then you are in the right track.
So, have you done your exercise today? Just remember, no matter how slow you go you are still lapping everybody on the couch! :p
